Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Allen received his early training in music and theater at the historic Arena Players, Inc., under the guidance of his mother, a classically trained soprano and accomplished pianist. This strong artistic foundation shaped his versatility and prepared him for a career spanning live performance, theater, recording, and musical direction.
Allen's breakthrough as a Musical Director came through his collaboration with acclaimed television producer and award-winning playwright Michael Ajakwe. He served as Musical Director for the hit stage productions You're All I Need to Get By and If You Don't Believe..., earning the 2005 NAACP Theatre Award for Best Music Director. As a Guitar Center Guitar Instructor, Migi finds great fulfillment in teaching students of all ages and skill levels. He believes that passing on the art of guitar playing is more than teaching chords and scales—it’s about preserving musicianship, nurturing creativity, and ensuring that the love of live music continues for generations to come.
When he’s not teaching or performing, Migi is dedicated to his studies as a Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS) Student Doctor, working diligently toward completing his degree while balancing an active musical career.
